3rd Anniversary

dessert @ Koffeecake Corner
Last night, we had our belated 3rd anniversary dinner! He took us to a Firenze Ristorante on the Upper East Side, and if you know anything about NYC, you know that the UES is fannnncyyyy. To enter the restaurant, you had to push a curtain out of the way, which reveal romantic candlelit tables with rustic Italian decor on the walls with a hint of Christmas. It was...breathtaking. Haha. Small and quaint, and I accidentally bumped into someone's chair when walking to our table...go, me. -.-" Sorry, no pics of the food, the place was too dark. :P

For appetizers:
  • Cozze in Guazzetto (mussels sauteed with white wine, basil & garlic sauce
  • Carpaccio Toscana (thinly sliced filet mignon dressed with lemon, olive oil & capers, served on a bed of wild arugula topped with shaved parmigiana cheese)

The entrees:
  • Vitello Terra E Mare (veal stuffed with whole shrimp, mozzarella cheese & spinach sauteed in mushroom sauce)
  • Bucatini Con Anatra (bucatini pasta served with a rich & hearty duck ragu)
And...the perk...2 glasses of CHAMPAGNE. :3 yum yum.

And of course, milkstud got all of this fancy experience on a deal! Idk if it's the Asian blood in me or that maybe we're poor struggling college students, but I love a man who can get a awesome deal. ;)

For dessert, we went to a nearby cafe called, Koffeecake Corner. We had some Fudge Brownie Sundae (warm chocolate fudge, vanilla ice cream, strawberries & bananas, nuts, caramel) and a Nutella Hot Cocoa. Sorry, sweetie! I know you wanted to try Firenze's tiramisu, I'll make it up to youuu.

Always feel so awkward while in a fancy restaurant, don't know if I'm doing anything wrong or offensive, don't want to be too loud in a quiet atmosphere...I feel much more comfortable being in good 'ole Flushing, where there are always old Chinese ladies talking on top of their lungs while slurping down some awesome noodles. Ahh...sounds like home. xD
